Bournemouth’s new home shirt for the 2026-27 season has been named one of the worst kits in Premier League history.

Earlier this month, the Cherries revealed their new kit range as they get ready to play in Europe for the first time, following their impressive sixth-place finish in the Premier League. Many fans are excited about the club’s new partnership with Danish brand Hummel, known for some memorable designs, including Denmark’s famous 1986 shirt.

Bournemouth’s official website says the new home shirt brings back the club’s classic wide red and black stripes. It also includes a special “subtle tonal pattern” inspired by their original 1936 crest. However, some fans aren’t happy with how the big front sponsor, Vitality, looks on the shirt.

One fan wrote, “Please Bournemouth, change the sponsor design on the home kit. I’ve seen so many negative comments about it. It’s really ugly.” Another said, “Imagine wearing that in your first European campaign,” while a third added, “The kit itself isn’t too bad, just the sponsor’s color ruins it. Red or gold would have looked much nicer.”

According to Footy Headlines, fans gave the Bournemouth kit a low rating of 1.92 out of 5, putting it in the top three worst-rated Premier League kits ever. Manchester City’s third kit from 2025-26 ranks worst with 1.77, and Aston Villa’s 2008-09 home kit is second with 1.86.

Some fans were surprised to see Villa’s kit so low on the list. One said, “Why is that 2008-09 Aston Villa kit in second place?!” Another added, “I don’t get how it made the top two — we loved that shirt.” A third fan commented, “I know a lot about football shirts, especially Villa’s, and there’s no way one of their best kits ever should be second worst in the Premier League.”
