Here are the top teams for the 2030 World Cup after Spain won against Argentina in the 2026 final.
Spain, the new World Cup champions, are early favorites to win the 2030 tournament after their win over Argentina in Sunday’s final. Four countries are currently ranked ahead of England in the early betting odds.
Spain stretched their unbeaten streak to 38 games—the longest ever in international football—at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. A goal from Ferran Torres in the 106th minute secured the win. Throughout the tournament, La Roja only let in one goal across eight matches, the fewest ever for a World Cup-winning team.
Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsi, who played in all eight games, won the Young Player Award for his strong defense. He also became one of just five teenagers ever to win the trophy. With Cubarsi and other young talents like Pedri, Gavi, and Lamine Yamal, Spain’s future looks very bright on the world stage.
Spain is also the favorite to defend their title in 2030, when they’ll co-host the World Cup with Portugal and Morocco. (The first three matches will be played in Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay.)
After the final, bookmaker Bet365 listed the odds for all 48 teams in the next World Cup. Spain leads at 9/2, followed by France at 6/1 and Portugal at 7/1. Brazil, despite a rough tournament in the US, sits at 8/1, tied with England, who hope to win their first World Cup since 1966.

Portugal might benefit from some big changes, and England gets an 8/1 chance as everyone recovers from another tough tournament.”
