Vinicius Jr has been in the news recently after making a noticeable change to his look following a medical procedure.
The Real Madrid star is taking a break after Brazil was knocked out in the World Cup quarterfinals.
Soon, he’ll join Jose Mourinho and the team for Real’s pre-season, but he’ll be showing up with a fresh new style.
Photos have popped up on social media showing Vinicius with a different face shape. According to an exclusive report by LeoDias, he had a cosmetic procedure done in Goiania, keeping it very private.
Vinicius came back from a holiday in Europe with his partner, Virginia Fonseca, before having the surgery — called “chin harmonization.”
The goal of the procedure was to reshape and add definition to his chin, making his facial features stand out more.
Dr. Alessandro Alarcao flew in from Miami to perform the surgery, which Virginia also had done.
To keep things very private, the clinic closed its doors for the day and didn’t take any other appointments. Strict security was in place to avoid any leaks.
Although the clinic stayed quiet, Dr. Alarcao shared a photo with Vinicius after the procedure, thanking him for choosing his clinic. The Instagram post was later taken down but included a friendly message calling Vinicius not only a top football talent but also humble and kind.
The doctor also shared a photo with Virginia, thanking her for her trust.
A side photo of Vinicius signing a Real Madrid shirt also clearly showed the change in his chin and face.
According to The Sun, similar treatments in the UK can cost anywhere from £3,000 to £14,000 depending on the details.
Fans on social media were surprised at Vinicius’s new look, and funny memes about it even got a response from former Chelsea player Ramires, who was compared to Vinicius. He replied with a laughing emoji, saying, “You guys are joking around a lot, lol.”
It’s not clear when Vinicius will return for Real’s pre-season, which includes four matches in Austria.
There are some doubts about his future at Real Madrid, as he hasn’t agreed to a new contract yet.
Vinicius only has one year left on his current deal, and this has caused talk that he might leave.
But Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is confident Vinicius will stay.
“Vini is one of the best players in the world and he loves being a Real Madrid player,” Perez said.
“He played a big part in winning the last two European Cups, and he still has one year left on his contract.
“There’s still time to sort things out, but Vinicius wants to stay and so do I.”
