WWE SummerSlam match lineup leaked and Brock Lesnar’s choice is in!
It looks like Brock Lesnar’s WWE retirement might finally be happening! The full match lineup for SummerSlam’s first night leaked, and Lesnar is set to face Oba Femi in a Hell in a Cell match at the U.S. Bank Stadium in his home state of Minnesota—one of WWE’s biggest events.
Lesnar seemed to retire back in April when he left his gloves and boots in the ring after losing to Femi at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. But a few weeks later, he made a surprise comeback, evened the score with Femi at Clash in Italy, and now their intense rivalry will be settled inside Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam. This will be Lesnar’s 12th time appearing at SummerSlam!
Like WrestleMania, SummerSlam will be held over two nights. According to Mike Johnson from PW Insider, the Lesnar vs. Femi match will close the show on night one. This will be Lesnar’s ninth time headlining SummerSlam, and because he’s going last, many fans think this could be his final WWE match.
On social media, some are already guessing: “This has to mean Brock’s 1000% retiring after tonight…” Another said, “Just get Brock’s retirement match over with and let Oba win the belt at WrestleMania.” And someone else added, “Yeah, Brock’s retiring. He’s gonna lose, pass the torch to Oba, and retire in his hometown.”
This is huge for rising star Oba Femi, who only joined the main roster earlier this year and is clearly headed for big success.
Other big matches on night one include CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes for the undisputed WWE championship, which will go second to last. The night will start with Liv Morgan vs. Iyo Sky for the women’s world championship. The Bloodline (The Usos and Jacob Fatu) face off against LA Knight, Solo Sikoa, and Royce Keys, and Nick Aldis makes his in-ring WWE debut against Gunther. There’s also a tag match featuring Fatal Influence vs. The Bella Twins and Paige.
On night two, the big main event will be Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE world heavyweight championship. Other exciting matches include Chad Gable vs. Penta for the Intercontinental championship, Trick Williams defending his United States championship against returning Baron Corbin, and a five-way ladder match for the interim WWE women’s championship with Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, Chelsea Green, Charlotte Flair, and Lash Legend. Plus, Finn Balor and Sami Zayn will fight for a No.1 contender spot for the undisputed WWE championship.
It’s shaping up to be an epic SummerSlam weekend!
