A European club is keen to spend big on Marcus Rashford and has already made contact.
Marcus Rashford’s agents have been contacted by a club willing to spend big to sign him from Manchester United this summer, according to a recent report.
Right now, Rashford is expected to return to Carrington this month as United gets ready for the new Premier League season, which kicks off with a match against newly-promoted Hull City on August 22.
It’s been a bit of a confusing time for the 28-year-old. Last summer, he joined Barcelona on a season-long loan, played regularly for the La Liga champions, and scored 14 goals with 14 assists in all competitions.
Even with his great performance, Barcelona chose not to pay the €30 million (£25.9m) buy option to keep him permanently. Just a few days ago, Rashford shared a heartfelt goodbye to Barca, saying, “I’m very grateful to everyone at the club for making my time here such a positive and memorable experience. I have enjoyed every moment and will take many special memories with me.” He also wished the club and its fans “the very best of luck and success in the season ahead.”
So what’s next for the England star? Rashford had a £40 million exit clause this summer, but it expired on July 15. Now, any club interested will need to talk directly with Manchester United.
United isn’t keen on letting him join a rival English team, according to ESPN.
With that in mind, Turkish club Fenerbahce is ready to splash out big to bring Rashford to Istanbul—a move that would definitely be one of the summer’s biggest.
In fact, The Sun reports that Fenerbahce’s new manager, Ismail Kartal, has already reached out to Rashford’s representatives. He’s aiming to boost the squad as they try to challenge Galatasaray.
Rashford is said to be one of three players on Fenerbahce’s shortlist, alongside Ismaila Sarr and Rafael Leao, who has also talked with the club.

After Barcelona’s recent win over Birmingham, coach Flick said he’ll really miss Rashford. “You never know what will happen with loan players—our situation is not easy,” the German said. “But I’ve enjoyed working with him. He’s a fantastic player and person. The team misses him, I’ll miss him, but that’s just life. We have to accept it.”
Flick added that their new player, Anthony Gordon, is fitting in well and he’s happy to have him on the team.
