Marcus Rashford’s Man Utd future gets interesting as two Premier League clubs show their interest
Two Premier League clubs are said to be interested in Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.
Rashford spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Barcelona, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists in 49 games, helping the team win La Liga. Despite this, Barcelona decided not to keep him permanently, so Rashford is expected back at Manchester United next week. Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martínez are also set to return after their World Cup duties.
Rashford has caught the eye of several clubs across Europe. Turkish giants Fenerbahçe are reportedly very keen and ready to offer a big contract to sign him. His agents have been contacted, but it’s not clear if Rashford wants to move to Turkey.
On August 4, the Daily Mail reported that a few Premier League clubs, including two with strong interest, are considering signing the 28-year-old. Clubs from Italy, Germany, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia are also open to loan deals.
It’s unclear which two Premier League teams are most interested, but it’s unlikely to be rivals Manchester City or Liverpool. Rashford might even play in a friendly against AC Milan soon; interestingly, Milan’s manager is Ruben Amorim, who used to coach United and had a difficult time with Rashford.
Meanwhile, TeamTalk says Rashford staying at United is still possible. Head coach Michael Carrick is excited to work with him and believes Rashford can be an important player next season. According to the report, Rashford’s salary isn’t a problem for Carrick or the coaching staff. They see a chance to bring back a player who can make a big difference under the new management.
Rashford is United’s top earner, making £325,000 a week, and he’s under contract until 2028. The transfer window closes on September 1, and United are expected to have some ins and outs before then. They’ve already signed Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, and backup goalkeeper Karl Darlow this summer.
United are also interested in Newcastle’s left-back Lewis Hall and hope to sign a third midfielder. The team’s Premier League season starts away at Hull on August 22.
