Ric Flair criticized by WWE fans for a nasty, ‘misogynist’ tweet about his ex-wife Wendy Barlow
Retired WWE star Ric Flair recently shared that he and his ex-wife Wendy Barlow have gotten back together. However, he posted a tweet about it that some fans found confusing and even called “misogynistic.”
Ric Flair is considered one of the greatest wrestlers ever, with 16 world titles and over 50 years of entertaining fans in the ring.
He met Wendy back in 1993 when she appeared as “Fifi the Maid” during his wrestling days. In 2018, the 77-year-old and Wendy had a ceremonial wedding, though they never officially married. They split up in early 2022 but got back together later that year. Their relationship lasted until late 2024, ending what many believe was a 13-year connection.
Flair has been married five times total. Most of those marriages were in the 2000s, but his longest was with Elizabeth Flair, which lasted over 20 years before 2000. His first wife was Leslie Goodman, married from 1971 to 1983.
Now, it seems Ric and Wendy have reunited again. He announced it on X (formerly Twitter) with a bold, wrestling-style tweet that some fans thought was disrespectful. He posted a photo of them and said, “I told you it was only a matter of time until you came running back! At least I know I’m in good hands because you’ve always taken the best care of me. She finally figured out there’s only one Ric Flair and one James Bond. And right now, Ric Flair is available for any kind of action. Let’s see if Wendy still has it! LFG!”
Fans really appreciate Wendy for supporting Ric during tough times, like when he was in a medically induced coma from organ failure in 2017. Ric has also fought skin cancer twice and recently shared that his health issues are ongoing, asking for understanding as he focuses on getting better.
Some fans were shocked and upset by Ric’s tweet, especially because Wendy stood by him through such serious health problems. Comments included, “What a selfish and arrogant thing to say!” and “Ric, you’re a hero to many, but this sounds disrespectful toward your wife.” Others felt it was just a joking promo, something wrestlers often do, and didn’t take it seriously.
