Bruno Fernandes might be heading for a surprising move away from Manchester United, something most fans didn’t expect.
Fernandes has been hugely important to United, playing a big part in the team’s success over the past few years. Last season, he smashed the Premier League assist record with 21 assists and scored nine goals, bringing his total to 107 goals in 327 games for the club.
However, his future is still up in the air because he’s entering the last year of his contract, and talks about a new deal haven’t made much progress yet. The idea of losing Fernandes for free next summer doesn’t sit well with the club or the fans, which is why there are rumors he could be sold before the transfer window closes.
BBC Sport says Juventus, AC Milan, and Galatasaray are all interested in signing him this summer and might try to convince United to let him go.
Before, there were reports that clubs in Saudi Arabia, like Al Hilal, wanted Fernandes, offering huge money—around £100 million plus up to £700,000 a week in wages. But after his amazing 2025/26 season, a move within Europe seems more likely, especially since there’s a £57 million release clause for teams outside the UK.
Out of the three clubs, AC Milan might be the most exciting option since Fernandes could team up again with Ruben Amorim, his former Manchester United manager. Amorim managed United from November 2024 to January 2026 and became AC Milan’s boss in June with a long-term contract.
The good news for United fans is that Fernandes reportedly wants to stay at the club, possibly for the rest of his career.
If United decide to sell Fernandes before his contract ends, they’ll definitely need to find a replacement quickly. According to Football FanCast, they may already be working on this by asking about AS Monaco’s midfielder Lamine Camara.
Camara, a Senegalese star, has scored five goals and made 11 assists in 71 games for Monaco since moving from Metz. He’s also strong defensively, averaging 2.7 tackles and 1.8 interceptions per game.
It’s no surprise Manchester United are interested, but they’re not alone. Crystal Palace recently had a £35 million offer for Camara turned down by Monaco. The French club seems to value him at about £65 million.
