Fans think there might be a real mix-up with Bayern Munich star Luis Diaz’s new rating in EA FC 27, but the truth could be more complicated.

EA Sports revealed the top 27 ratings for both men and women on Monday afternoon, showing some big changes—both ups and downs.

Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland are tied as the highest-rated men at 91 overall, while Alexia Putellas leads the women’s list with a 91.

Mohamed Salah, who shared the top spot in EA FC 26 with a 91 rating, didn’t make the top 27 this time after leaving Liverpool. Ballon d’Or Feminin winner Aitana Bonmati also dropped a bit, from 91 to 90.

Diaz is one of several Bayern Munich players to get a boost after their team won the Bundesliga easily and reached the Champions League semi-finals. The Colombian winger’s rating rose from 85 to 88 following a great debut season where he scored 26 goals and made 19 assists.

Some of his stats improved too—his overall passing went from 76 to 83, and his shooting increased from 81 to 82. But his pace dropped quite a bit, falling from 88 to 82.

When Diaz joined Liverpool in January 2022, his pace was 92, then dropped to 91 and 90 in following seasons. Last season, he hit a top speed of 34.14 km/h in the Bundesliga, while the fastest player, Oliver Burke, reached 37 km/h. In the Champions League, Diaz’s top speed was 32.9 km/h, placing him 132nd among all players—faster than players like Nico Williams and Jeremy Doku.

So it’s possible EA just recalculated his pace rating, but some fans aren’t happy about it.

“Diaz has less pace than Olise? That can’t be right,” one fan said.

“Why does Diaz only have 82 pace?” another asked.

“I thought his pace was pretty good, especially with the ball,” a third shared.

One more wondered, “What made them lower Diaz’s pace?”

Another claimed, “Diaz should have 90+ pace.”
