Liverpool are reportedly close to agreeing personal terms with a second winger, as they look to make another signing alongside Bradley Barcola. The Reds have been chasing Barcola for much of the summer after already signing Osasuna winger Victor Munoz early in the transfer window.

Munoz officially joined Liverpool on July 1, but only linked up with the squad recently since he was with Spain’s World Cup team. Since then, Liverpool haven’t completed any other permanent signings ahead of the new Premier League season.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano shared earlier that 23-year-old Barcola has given the go-ahead on personal terms with Liverpool, but the club hasn’t yet met PSG’s asking price of around £124 million. They spent a record £125 million on Alexander Isak last summer and seem hesitant to spend that much again so soon.

Barcola wasn’t in PSG’s squad for their recent French Super Cup game, and manager Luis Enrique didn’t comment when asked about his future, saying he’ll only talk once the transfer window closes. Interestingly, Ibrahim Mbaye, another PSG winger linked with Liverpool, was also left out of the squad.

Both players were unused substitutes during PSG’s UEFA Super Cup win over Aston Villa, making their absences even more noticeable. Now, according to RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins, Liverpool have agreed financial terms on a five-year deal with 18-year-old Mbaye, a Senegal international.

Mbaye has chosen to join Liverpool and isn’t considering interest from Bayer Leverkusen, who have also been keen on him this summer. Despite being one of PSG’s top young talents and making 29 appearances last season with three goals, Mbaye has struggled for playing time in the Champions League behind players like Barcola, Ousmane Dembele, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Even if Barcola comes to Liverpool, PSG has signed Ferran Torres and Mika Godts recently, putting Mbaye’s place on the team in doubt. French media reported Liverpool are preparing a £42 million bid for Mbaye, as PSG looks to raise funds after spending big on Torres, Godts, and Monaco midfielder Maghnes Akliouche.
