Alex Eala pulls off amazing Nike achievement ahead of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner

Alex Eala has achieved something special with her Nike sponsorship—she did it even before stars like Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. Nike has supported Alex since she first made a name for herself on the WTA Tour and has continued to back her as she climbs the rankings.
At 21 years old, Alex also has deals with Globe Telecom, Bank of the Philippine Islands, and others. After winning her first WTA 500 title at the Washington Open, she became the face of Marriott Bonvoy’s ‘Tennis The World’ campaign for the Asia Pacific region (except China).
Nike sponsors many top tennis players, including Alcaraz, Sinner, and Naomi Osaka, and they have long worked with Rafael Nadal—whose academy in Spain Alex has trained at since 2018.
This week, Nike launched new player gear, including a black shirt featuring Alex’s name, priced at $42. It sold out within hours! New York Times reporter Jessica Schiffer pointed out that no other new player gear from Nike had sold out so fast. By Thursday, new items for Sinner and Alcaraz were still available on Nike’s website.
There are nine reviews of Alex’s shirt online, many asking Nike to restock it, especially before the US Open. Alex will be competing in both women’s singles and mixed doubles at the US Open, where she received a wildcard to team up with Felix Auger Aliassime.
She’s set to play in the women’s singles main draw and is likely to be one of the 32 seeded players, currently ranked number 29 on the entry list. Alex just moved up to world number 18 after reaching the round of 32 at the Cincinnati Open.
In her match on Tuesday, she won the first set 6-4 against Amanda Anisimova, but the American came back to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Alex’s rise has gained her lots of fans—her recent matches in Canada and Cincinnati sold out quickly. After beating Alex, Anisimova said, “I know Alex is a great player and a fighter. I knew it would be a tough match. There was a lot of support for me tonight, which I appreciated because I know how much Alex is loved—and with good reason. But I’m glad for the support—it helped me, especially since it’s past my bedtime!”
