Exciting news! Max Verstappen’s amazing Red Bull contract details have been revealed, and his future in F1 is now clear.

Max Verstappen is set to lead Red Bull again in 2027, putting an end to all the rumors about his future. He had a chance to leave because Red Bull wasn’t at the top during the F1 summer break, but he chose to stay with the team for next season and beyond.

The four-time world champion has signed a new deal that lasts until the end of 2030. “I really like it here,” Verstappen shared before the Dutch Grand Prix this weekend. “It would be a great story to start and finish my career with one team. I don’t feel the need to switch just for the sake of it, plus my favourite color is blue, which helps! I believe in the team, and I’m hungry to win more races.”

Verstappen has been racing in F1 with Toro Rosso and Red Bull since 2015 and won four straight world titles from 2021 to 2024. Right now, he’s sixth in the 2026 standings and hasn’t won a race this year yet. But with back-to-back podium finishes recently, he’s confident in the team — the only one he ever really wanted to drive for — despite all the talk about him possibly moving.

His new contract also comes with a huge paycheck. F1 finance expert Marc Limacher revealed that Verstappen’s salary could reach 92 million euros a year starting in 2027, plus bonuses that could push it up to 115 million euros per season. That totals around 460 million euros for the whole deal!

With that kind of money, Verstappen would be earning more than famous athletes like Lionel Messi, Karim Benzema, and Lewis Hamilton, according to Forbes. Only Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for Al-Nassr, has a higher-paying deal next year — if we don’t count sports where winnings are bigger than salaries, like boxing.

It’s definitely a fantastic deal for Verstappen!

He’ll be excited to race at the Dutch GP, his home event. At just 28, Verstappen won the first three Dutch races since they came back to Zandvoort in 2021. He finished second in 2024 and third last year. Just so you know, F1 won’t be racing in the Netherlands next season.
