Liverpool and Man Utd get the go-ahead to make a big €70m deal before the transfer window shuts
Liverpool and Manchester United have both been given the go-ahead to make a big €70 million signing before the transfer window closes, according to new reports.
With the deadline fast approaching, both teams are eager to bring in new players to boost their squads.
Liverpool are working hard to sign a new winger and are targeting Yankuba Minteh and Bradley Barcola. Meanwhile, Manchester United have already signed three midfielders: Youri Tielemans, Andrey Santos, and Carlos Baleba.
Both clubs need reinforcements, and recent news from Spain suggests Liverpool and United have been encouraged about signing Barcelona defender Jules Kounde.
Last season, Kounde played 48 games as Barcelona won La Liga, but things have changed this season. According to El Nacional, he might be on the move.
Coach Hansi Flick prefers Eric Garcia ahead of Kounde, feeling Garcia fits the role better. Plus, Xavi also chose another player for right-back in Barcelona’s recent match against Elche.
Kounde doesn’t want to be a backup player — he wants to feel important, get regular playtime, and earn his spot. Since that’s not guaranteed at Barcelona right now, leaving might be the best option for him.
The player is open to moving if it’s good for his career, and Barcelona are willing to listen to offers, but only for around €70 million.
Kounde, who joined Barcelona from Sevilla in 2022, has played 189 times for the club and is very experienced.
Both Liverpool and Manchester United have shown interest, and his ability to play in different positions makes him an attractive option.
