Prince Naseem Hamed makes a surprising claim about Moses Itauma involving Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua
Moses Itauma is stepping into the ring this Saturday night, hoping to make history by winning the IBF heavyweight title at just 21 years old by beating Filip Hrgovic. If he keeps his undefeated streak and wins against the Croatian, Moses will become the youngest British fighter and the second-youngest ever in boxing history to claim the heavyweight crown.

Prince Naseem shared his thoughts with SPORTbible ahead of Moses’ big fight with Hrgovic.
Q: How do you feel about the fight this weekend?
PNH: It’s going to be an amazing fight. Moses is on another level. I don’t think it will even go past three rounds.
Q: You’ve been doing some commentary – do you like that as much as being in the ring?
PNH: I don’t mind it. I don’t do it often, so when I do, it’s nice. But I’m really excited about Moses; I think he’s the future of boxing.
Q: Who’s your favorite fighter to watch right now?
PNH: Moses is definitely up there. He’s still early in his career, but he has a real shot at winning the world title easily.
Q: Do you think boxing needs more exciting fights?
PNH: Yes, we need more entertainment. I wish fighters would bring the kind of flair and drama I had. Not everyone can do that, but more excitement would be great.
Q: How close is Moses to being in the same league as Fury and Joshua?
PNH: He’s beyond them. Those guys are past their best and only want to fight each other. Moses is on a whole different level. He’s a future Hall of Famer, and honestly, Fury and Joshua don’t want to face him because of his speed and skill.
Q: You were a young world champion too. What do you remember about that?
PNH: That was an incredible night. The crowd was tough, but I loved proving myself. I think Moses, at 21, is just as special. Winning a world title so young is huge—it means a lot more in boxing because it’s such a tough, lonely sport.
Q: Why do you say boxing is lonelier than football?
PNH: In football, you’ve got a team to support you, but in boxing, it’s just you in the ring with the world watching. That’s what I loved about it. I defended my title 15 times, and I believe Moses can do even better. He has the chance to be the greatest British fighter ever.
