Liverpool’s transfer target makes bold move to speed up transfer as new offer is on the way
Liverpool’s next big transfer target is taking things into his own hands, trying to push through a move to Anfield before the window closes.
After a busy summer of transfers, the Deadline Day rush is almost here, with just over 48 hours left in the 2026/27 summer transfer window. Many Premier League clubs are working hard to make last-minute signings to strengthen their squads after the first two games of the season.
Liverpool recently sealed a deal for their top target Bradley Barcola, who will join from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth up to £123 million. But it looks like they still want to bring in at least one more player before the window shuts on Tuesday.
Even though they’ve already signed Barcola and Victor Munoz as new attackers on the wings, Liverpool is reported to be looking for another wide forward this summer. One name linked is Crystal Palace winger Ismalia Sarr, who is said to be very keen to move to Anfield after Liverpool’s first bid of £50m was turned down.
Sarr seems determined to show he’s ready to leave Palace. He’s deleted all his Crystal Palace photos and mentions from his social media accounts. His only recent post is about Senegal’s exit from the World Cup this summer.
According to The Sun, Sarr feels he has “served Palace well” since joining in August 2024, helping them win both the FA Cup and the Conference League. Last season, after key players like Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze left, Sarr became Palace’s main star, having his best season yet by scoring 21 goals in all competitions.
It’s no surprise Palace don’t want to lose their star player this summer and have already refused offers from Galatasaray, Al-Ittihad, and Liverpool’s first bid. But because Sarr hasn’t been picked for Palace’s matchday squad in their first two Premier League games this season, the club seems more open to selling him now. Advanced talks are happening, and an agreement might be reached before the window closes.
With that in mind, Liverpool could make a new bid on Monday (August 31). The offer is expected to be between €75m (£64m) and €80m (£68m), which would make Sarr the most expensive Senegalese player ever in England.
Meanwhile, Liverpool is also thinking about a late move for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh, having already put in two bids for the young Ghanaian talent.
There are also reports linking Liverpool to 6’7” goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans, with talks underway after their current keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili might join Nottingham Forest.
It’s not just about new arrivals though — Liverpool may also see some players leaving. Harvey Elliott, Stefan Bajcetic, and Cody Gakpo are all being linked with moves away from Anfield before the deadline.
