Spurs star asked about surprising exit from club just before Iliman Ndiaye transfer

Tottenham Hotspur’s chase for Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye could lead to some changes for Roberto De Zerbi’s current players, according to reports. Spurs are moving ahead with their plans to sign the talented Senegal star, who is also attracting interest from Manchester City and North London rivals Arsenal.

Sources say a deal between Spurs and Everton is close, while Everton is set to bring back former striker Richarlison, who left Goodison Park for Tottenham four years ago. These transfers seem to be separate, but Ndiaye’s arrival might mean one player at Tottenham could be on the move.

Reports from Turkey suggest that Mathys Tel, who joined Spurs permanently after a loan from Bayern Munich last season, might be heading out on loan again—this time to Turkish champions Galatasaray. The Istanbul club has already signed Portugal winger Rafael Leao from AC Milan and want to add more firepower for their title defense.

According to Fanatik, Galatasaray has made a loan offer for the 21-year-old Tel. They are now waiting for Tottenham’s response before talking to the player’s representatives. Tel is known for his speed, strength, and versatility in attack, qualities that Galatasaray hope will boost their squad.

Tel grew up north of Paris and played youth football at several clubs, including Paris FC, before breaking into senior football at Rennes. He moved to Spurs on loan in early 2025 after 83 appearances and 16 goals for Bayern. Despite joining a struggling Spurs side, he contributed in their Europa League win and signed permanently.

In the 2025-26 season, Tel scored four Premier League goals as Spurs narrowly avoided relegation again. This season, he has started all three matches but hasn’t had many shots on target, especially in their goalless losses to Brentford and Newcastle. With new signings like former Man City winger Savio and loanee striker Omar Marmoush, Tel might find it tough to keep his spot in the team if Spurs strengthen their attack.

Spurs have spent a lot this summer, and with the transfer deadline coming up on Tuesday, it seems likely Tel’s future might be away from Tottenham for now.
