Mo Salah has just broken another 25-year record, keeping the Liverpool legend making history!
Mohamed Salah is making waves again in his exciting first season with Trabzonspor. After nine unforgettable years at Liverpool, he left the club by mutual agreement at the end of the 2025-26 season and signed a two-year deal with the Turkish team.
Just weeks in, Salah is already breaking records. He’s the first player in 25 years to score four goals in his first three matches for Trabzonspor.
Even though the team had a rough start to the 2026/27 season, including a surprising early exit from the Europa League against Hungarian club Ferencvarosi, Salah has been shining. He quickly adapted, scoring three goals in his first three league games before their recent match against Genclerbirligi.
In that game, Salah made more history by scoring a goal and providing an assist in a strong 5-0 win. This made him the first foreign player for Trabzonspor to score four goals in his first three Super Lig games since records began in 2000/01.
Adding to the good news, Salah reached this milestone just days after celebrating the birth of his first son with his wife Magi—their third child.
Trabzonspor now has two wins, one draw, and one loss in their opening four games, sitting fourth in the league with tough matches coming up against Galatasaray and Besiktas. Salah will also soon have the chance to make more history as he prepares to play in the Europa Conference League next month.
If Trabzonspor keeps doing well in the league, they could qualify for the Champions League next season, giving Salah the chance to face his old club Liverpool again. When asked about this, Salah said it would be an emotional experience because of his nine years at Anfield and his love for the city and fans.
“It would be mixed feelings for me,” he said. “I love the city and the fans, so it would definitely be tricky.”
For now, it’s unclear if Trabzonspor can maintain their good form this season, especially since their last Champions League appearance was back in 2011/12. But with Salah on the team, their fans have plenty to look forward to.
