Big news about the Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight location—it’s had a major change!
The Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight might finally happen in the UK after a long and tough disagreement about where to hold it. The “Battle of Britain” was agreed on earlier this year when Joshua accepted a challenge from Fury, also known as the Gypsy King. Well-known boxing reporter Dan Rafael says there’s now a “strong chance” the big fight will take place at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on November 28.
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, and his team wanted the fight in the UK, with Wembley Stadium as their top choice. Meanwhile, Netflix and Turki Alalshikh were pushing for New York’s Madison Square Garden. Frank Warren, Fury’s promoter, even gave Joshua’s side a deadline to agree to fight in the US, but the venue still wasn’t set.
Now, Dan Rafael says things are moving forward after months of talks and some tension. He shared on social media that sources told him the fight will likely be in Cardiff, Wales, at the Principality Stadium on November 28. When asked if Netflix was okay with this change, one source said, “I think they’re OK.” Rafael expects the deal to be finalized soon.
The Principality Stadium used to be called the Millennium Stadium. It holds 80,000 people and has a retractable roof, which is great in case of bad weather.
Despite both fighters getting older and some saying they’re past their best, this fight is expected to be intense. Fury made things more heated with a tough message about the fight delays and saying Joshua is holding things up.
On Instagram, Fury said, “Joshua, where are you? No deal yet. I’m tired of this. I’ve agreed to every location mentioned—England, Ireland, Vegas, New York—no issues. I think you’re being a coward and don’t really want the fight. You’ve had many chances but never truly accepted. We’re both around 37 or 38. Let’s just fight.
“You’ve been knocked out before, so what? I’m sure I could hit you hard, but that’s nothing new.”
It looks like fans are in for a big showdown once they get this fight locked down!
