Cole Palmer speaks out after getting banned on Twitch for his actions during a stream
Cole Palmer took to Instagram to respond after getting banned on Twitch for streaming on Tuesday afternoon.
Palmer has started the new season strong, scoring four goals and assisting twice. But the Chelsea star found himself in a tricky spot for jumping on a Twitch stream earlier than he was supposed to.
Using his account ‘colep10,’ Palmer went live on Twitch, opening packs in an EA FC 27 stream that went on for over an hour. Thousands tuned in to watch him, with his mic on, making the stream fun and exciting.
However, his stream was cut short when he was banned for going live before EA Sports had officially allowed it.
The game officially launches on September 25, a week after early access. But Palmer gave fans a sneak peek, which got him into trouble. EA Sports even messaged in his chat, saying, “Errr Cole, weren’t we going to do this a bit later? We’ll be live at 6pm UK!”
After the ban, Palmer posted on Instagram, tagging Twitch and EA, saying, “I was only giving the people what they wanted… unban me pls.”
Fut Sheriff, a popular FC page, shared the news, and Palmer replied, “We back soon,” with three laughing emojis.
Usually, big streamers get the game early but aren’t allowed to stream it until a set time. Palmer ignored this and jumped the gun. He later returned to streaming, opening more Ultimate Team packs, playing games, and sharing fun moments.
Palmer was clearly enjoying playing EA FC early but wasn’t happy with his rating in the game. After a tough injury-plagued season, his rating dropped from 87 to 85, which he thinks is unfair.
He said, “I need a word with EA anyway, they took two ratings off me. I had one leg for 10 months. What do you want me to do?!”
At one point, Palmer packed his teammate and good friend Morgan Rogers but used the chance to joke about EA’s ratings since Rogers got a higher speed score than him.
He said, “There he is, my boy! I don’t know how he’s got more pace than me, but you know EA sometimes, they’re a bit crazy.”
Palmer chose to play EA FC instead of watching the Carabao Cup third round games. Chelsea are back in action on Friday when they face Brentford.
