His team is unhappy with how he’s developing and the lack of senior chances he’s getting. Gabriel was expected to start in United’s Carabao Cup match against Brighton on Wednesday.
On the other hand, Arsenal’s young star Dowman, a year older at 16, started in their win over Ipswich and gave a fantastic performance. He played the full 90 minutes, scoring a great first goal by dribbling past a defender and calmly placing the ball past the keeper. Dowman’s confidence shines through, especially when he reacts quickly to opportunities, something Arteta praised after the game.
“That’s very natural for him,” Arteta said about Dowman’s first goal. “He does these things effortlessly. It’s his biggest strength. Dowman has already set many records for Arsenal.
