After this tough setback, Arsenal are now targeting a €40m forward to strengthen their squad. Arteta has been working to improve the team as they aim to defend their Premier League title and go further in the Champions League after last season’s final loss.
The club saw a need to boost their attacking options, especially after letting Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus, and Gabriel Martinelli leave. So far, Arsenal have only signed Christos Tzolis, who plays on the left wing, but many feel the attack could use more depth.
Now, Arsenal are linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Maximilian Beier, after failing to sign Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid. TEAMtalk reports that Arsenal’s scouts have been impressed by Beier for a while and see him as a strong attacking option.
The 23-year-old mainly plays as a central striker but can also play on the wing or as a No.10, which adds to his appeal. Arsenal have even compared him to Kai Havertz, Arteta’s main central attacker this season, making Beier an attractive target.
Beier, a German international with 10 caps, has shown impressive performances in the Bundesliga since his debut in 2020 with Hoffenheim. He spent two seasons on loan at Hannover in the second division before returning to the top tier, where he caught attention and moved to Dortmund in 2024.
Since joining Dortmund, Beier has scored 20 goals and provided 14 assists, proving himself to be a smart, flexible, and creative player. Arsenal aren’t the only team interested—Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have also been following his progress closely.
