Tyson Fury shares important detail about Dana White that he removed from Anthony Joshua’s fight contract
Tyson Fury has shared that he actually had an important part taken out of his contract with Anthony Joshua.
The big British fight between Fury and Joshua was finally set on Thursday after a lot of back-and-forth. They’ll meet in the ring on Friday, December 11, at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
Joshua’s longtime promoter, Eddie Hearn, worked really hard to make sure the fight would happen in the UK—not the US.

Even though Hearn succeeded with that, he got upset after a press release said Dana White is working with Turki Alalshikh on promoting the fight. Hearn even hinted he might skip a press conference next week because he says there have been about six contract “breaches.”
But Fury is happy about White’s involvement. In a recent interview, he said both he and Joshua originally had a rule in their contracts saying UFC boss Dana White couldn’t promote the fight. Fury said he removed that clause because he wants White involved.
“He’s a promoter, right?” Fury told FurociTV.
“So after all of Eddie Hearn’s fuss about wanting the fight in England and kicking out Dana White, I just saw Ring announce that Ring and Dana are promoting this fight. How crazy is that? I’m pretty sure I saw a post by Ring saying that Ring and Dana are promoting it.
“In Joshua’s contract, it says TKO and Dana can’t be involved. That was in mine too, but I took it out.
“I took it out because I want Dana involved. Two bald guys together. I like Dana—a good businessman and a nice guy.
“He started with nothing and became a billionaire, look what he’s done with the UFC. It’s amazing. I think he can do great things in boxing, too.
“I think he might even beat Eddie Hearn at his own game. No hard feelings with Eddie though—he’s just someone I’m competing against. And honestly, I’d have a beer with Eddie anytime.”
Dana White has been in the UK for a Zuffa Boxing event on Saturday and talked to Sky Sports about his role in the big fight. The 57-year-old insists he is definitely promoting the match, despite Hearn’s complaints.
White told Sky Sports, “The press release says it all. I’ve said from the start that I’d be part of promoting this fight. I’m promoting it right now. Who’s going to stop me? I haven’t lost anything.”
When asked if the talks were difficult, White said, “Not at all. This is what we do—figure out how to make the most money for a fight. This one was no different, except for one little crybaby.
“Frank Warren was awesome. He gets it and doesn’t have any ego about the whole thing. He’s a real businessman.”
