Good news for FPL managers! A star player, owned by 19.4% of teams, is coming back after a worrying injury during the Nations League.
Fantasy Premier League managers can finally breathe easy after Thomas Tuchel shared some good news about a player owned by 19.4% of managers. It’s been 12 days since the last Premier League game, and while many fantasy football fans are taking a break from worrying about their teams, some key players are still causing concern ahead of Gameweek Six.
During the international break, a few big names got injured, but luckily, England’s coach Tuchel updated us about Arsenal’s Ezri Konsa. He should be ready to play in Arsenal’s next match. Konsa started for England against World Cup winners Spain but didn’t play in their clean sheet win over Czechia, which made some FPL managers nervous since he’s the fifth most owned defender.
Konsa’s price is just £4.6 million, and he’s become very popular, especially with upcoming games against Leeds, Nottingham Forest, and Everton. Good news for those who own him—Tuchel said Konsa is feeling great and even took part in training ahead of the Croatia game on Saturday. “It seems that Ezri Konsa is back. He did the full training today and this is of course a lot of hope for tomorrow, because he is a key player for us,” Tuchel said.
So far this season, Konsa has earned 12 points in four games, filling in for the injured William Saliba. Many managers are planning to use their Wildcard soon, so Konsa’s ownership will probably keep rising before the Gameweek Six deadline.
On the flip side, Konsa’s spot in Arsenal’s starting lineup might not be safe for long. That’s because Saliba is close to returning from a back injury that’s kept him out since the World Cup. He only played 30 minutes in France’s semi-final loss to Spain and hasn’t played since.
According to French news outlet L’Equipe, Saliba hopes to be back by November if his recovery keeps going well. That means he could return around Gameweek 9, when Arsenal face Liverpool, giving Konsa just three more matches as a guaranteed starter. But Saliba’s comeback depends on how his body handles a faster training pace, and he won’t return until he’s 100% ready.
So, while Konsa’s injury update is great news, fantasy managers should keep an eye on Saliba’s progress in the coming weeks!
