Fantasy Premier League is back, and there’s one player you really should think about picking before the Gameweek Six deadline. After a long three-week international break, the Premier League is finally returning this weekend — and with it comes an important FPL deadline.

Lots of big-name players got injured during the break, so many managers will be making transfers, with some even using their wildcard chip. There’s one player who should definitely be at the top of your list.

Heading into Gameweek Six, several popular forwards have injury doubts. For example, Alexander Isak, who is owned by 20.5% of managers, is out for Liverpool’s game against Manchester City. With that in mind, many managers will need to find a new forward.

Fulham’s Gonzalo Garcia is the perfect choice. Even though just over 5% of managers have him now, he’s one of the most exciting picks, especially with some easy matches ahead. Fulham will face three newly promoted clubs in a row, then Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

None of these five matches score higher than three on the Premier League’s Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), and Saturday’s game against Ipswich Town looks especially good for Garcia. Ipswich has given up the most goals to strikers so far this season, with four of the 11 goals they’ve conceded coming from opposing forwards.

Garcia, who joined Fulham over the summer, is currently fourth among Premier League forwards for shots taken and shots inside the box — with 15 and 13 respectively — and has an Expected Goals (xG) value of 2.34. Plus, the 22-year-old could take penalties since Fulham’s previous penalty taker, Raul Jimenez, moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

At just £6.0m and with low ownership, Garcia looks like a smart, low-risk pick with big upside for the next few weeks. But if you want him, act fast — his price is expected to rise early on Saturday, October 10.

Besides Garcia, many managers using their wildcard before the Gameweek Six deadline are likely to look at other players as well. For example, lots might consider selling Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes after a disappointing run recently.

Fernandes, owned by 38.1% of managers, scored just once — getting 23 points against Ipswich in Gameweek Two — but has been blank in all his other games. At £11.9m, it’s getting harder to justify having the United captain, even though his next two fixtures, at home vs. Tottenham and away at Leeds, look good on paper.

If you decide to go without Fernandes, you could build a strong team with players like Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka, who hasn’t gotten much attention but has taken 12 shots in the box over the first five gameweeks, making him a great midfield option.
