Tottenham will leave the UK right after the Man Utd game, following a request from Roberto De Zerbi.
Roberto De Zerbi and his Tottenham team will be heading to Marbella after their Premier League game against Manchester United. This trip is planned to help ‘kick-start’ their season.
Spurs have had a tough start to the 2026-27 season. They’re currently at the bottom of the league, with two draws and three losses in their first five games. Despite spending over £250 million on new players this summer, it’s their worst start ever in the Premier League. De Zerbi is eager to change this situation.
According to BBC Sport, the Italian coach has organized a team bonding trip to Marbella to help the new squad gel and get the season moving in the right direction. If the trip goes ahead, new signings like Savio, Mykhailo Mudryk, Omar Marmoush, and Tosin Adarabioyo will get the chance to connect with their teammates in sunny southern Spain.
It’s rare for a team to travel abroad so early in the season because warm-weather training usually happens in winter. Marbella should be nice and warm though, with temperatures expected to reach 25 degrees.
Before Tottenham’s match at Old Trafford on Saturday, some people wondered if De Zerbi could turn things around, including former striker Charlie Austin. On talkSPORT, pundit Ade Oladipo called De Zerbi “quite volatile” when things aren’t going well.
Oladipo said, “I don’t see how they turn this around with him.” Austin questioned De Zerbi’s track record too, asking if fans really believe he can get Spurs back on track. He also wondered if any players are really motivated to give their all for him.
It’s clear there’s a lot of pressure on De Zerbi to help Tottenham improve, and the upcoming trip to Marbella could be an important chance to build team spirit.
