WWE star facing lawsuit over unwanted lap dance that led to victim’s kids being teased and made fun of
WWE star Montez Ford and the company are being sued over an unscripted lap dance he gave a security guard during Monday Night Raw in July. The guard’s children have reportedly faced teasing and ridicule because of it.
The lawsuit lists 14 claims against Montez Ford, whose real name is Kenneth Crawford, including battery, assault, and causing emotional distress after the lap dance aired on Netflix. It describes the moment as a “sexually provocative dance” where Ford thrust and moved his hips right in front of the guard.
The security guard, Cook County Sheriff Noel Lucas, was working at the Allstate Arena as part of his second job when WWE asked him to be near ringside. Before the first match, Ford approached Lucas and performed the lap dance live on Netflix, rubbing his hips in Lucas’s face.
WWE later shared the video on social media, which led Lucas to include the company in his lawsuit. He claims they broke Illinois’ rules by using his image for commercial reasons without his permission.
The lap dance clip isn’t shown again during the Netflix replay, as the broadcast switches to commercials. That episode of Monday Night Raw had around 12,500 fans in the arena and 2.5 million viewers online in the first week.
Lucas says he felt very embarrassed and upset after the event, and it still affects him because the video is online. His lawsuit also says this broke the Illinois Gender Violence Act. Some people even recognized him from the video and mocked him by copying the dance moves.
At first, Lucas looked uncomfortable during the lap dance, which went on for quite a while. Later, he gave a small smile. The lawsuit also says Ford got closer during the dance, with his thigh rubbing against Lucas’s leg.
Lucas’s kids have been teased at school since the incident. He is asking the court for money to cover damages, his legal fees, and an order to prevent Ford and WWE from using his image.
A court hearing is scheduled for December 10. Lucas is represented by Barr and Alexis Martin from Caffarelli & Martin Ltd. His lawyer shared that, like many officers, Lucas works a second job to support his children. He also leads a security team for Monterrey Security, which is why he was working at the WWE event.
