Premier League players whose contracts end in 2027: Complete list by club

The summer transfer window closed in early September, and some Premier League players now have less than 12 months left on their contracts. This means they could leave their clubs on a free transfer in 2027.

Arsenal are aiming to keep hold of their first top-flight title in over 20 years and hope to win again by May. With the January transfer window coming up, players whose contracts run out in the summer can already start planning moves abroad by signing pre-contract agreements.

Right now, 79 players across the 20 Premier League teams could leave for free at the end of next June. This list includes big names like Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk and Manchester United’s Luke Shaw.

Below is a list of players whose contracts currently end next summer, along with any known options to extend those deals. Note that loan deals aren’t included. This info was last updated on 12/10/2026 at 4 pm and will be refreshed when clubs or players announce changes.

At Arsenal, no senior first-team players are confirmed to be out of contract in 2027. Some examples of players with contracts expiring June 30, 2027, include Emi Buendia (attacking midfielder), Victor Lindelof (central defender), Ross Barkley (midfielder), and Callum Wilson (striker).

Chelsea also don’t have any confirmed senior out-of-contract players in 2027. However, some players like Haji Wright (centre forward) and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto (right wing) do have contracts currently set to expire next summer.

Across the Premier League, many players are in a similar situation. When reaching the last six months of their contract, they can agree to join a club outside England through pre-contracts. Sometimes clubs pay to release players a few weeks early, like Real Madrid did for Trent Alexander-Arnold in 2025 so he could play in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Please note, sometimes contract options mean a player’s deal could be extended even if the base contract ends next June. All contract expiry dates have been checked with reliable sources, and where available, info about extensions is included.
