Mikel Arteta reveals surprising steps he’s taking against 19 other Premier League managers in a press conference.

Mikel Arteta said he plans to keep an eye on all 19 other Premier League managers after something happened during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Everton.

Arsenal’s goals from Ezri Konsa and Gabriel Magalhães helped them beat David Moyes’ team at a lively Emirates Stadium on Saturday (October 24). This win put Arsenal level on points with league leaders Manchester City, who had lost earlier that day.

Even though the result was great for his team, Arteta shared his frustration in the post-match interview. He got a yellow card for stepping out of his technical area during the game.

Arteta has now been booked twice this season and will miss a game if he gets another yellow card. He feels this is unfair because other managers often step out without any punishment. He even joked that he has video proof of coaches leaving the area more than 30 times in 10 minutes without getting booked.

“I might put sensors on the touchline,” Arteta joked. “There are managers with a record of 36 exits in 10 minutes and no yellow cards. I’m saving all this footage now. If anyone says I’m not the record holder, I can prove otherwise. Let’s see what happens.”

Arteta also praised his players’ strong mindset after the win.

“We’re very happy with the win, the way we played, and how the team handled a tough week. We had a rough schedule—playing Sunday afternoon, then Wednesday in Munich, arriving late Thursday, and playing again Saturday at 3pm against a tough opponent. We overcame these challenges, plus some injuries, and I really like the spirit and quality shown today,” he said.

According to the IFAB Laws of the Game, which the Premier League follows, a manager can get a warning for leaving their technical area occasionally. Repeatedly or clearly breaking this rule can lead to a yellow card, and leaving it to argue with officials or act out can get a red card.

Arsenal’s next match is away at Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup on October 27, before they face Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League on November 1.
