Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes seems to have ‘liked’ an Instagram post that says, “never push a loyal person to the point where they no longer care.”

Fernandes was left on the bench during the club’s 3-0 loss to Bournemouth, just days after he questioned Michael Carrick’s tactics following their Champions League defeat to Como. The Portuguese midfielder, who has scored four goals in 11 games this season, mentioned it was “a decision from the staff to not press man-to-man” against Cesc Fabregas’ team.

Before the Sunday match, Carrick said Fernandes was dropped purely for football reasons, but many are still talking about the choice, especially since he didn’t come off the bench. On Monday morning, Manchester Evening News reporter Steven Railston shared a screenshot showing Fernandes had ‘liked’ an Instagram post with the quote: “Never push a loyal person to the point where they no longer care.”

Railston commented: “What’s going on with Bruno Fernandes? He’s better than liking moody posts on Instagram like a teenager.” He added, “It’s easy to understand that he’s frustrated, probably fed up after giving his best years to a club that’s struggling, but he let down Michael Carrick and is now posting like Garnacho on social media.”

The Instagram post, from the Wealth page, had a long caption: “The person holding everything together is usually the one nobody checks on. Every family, group, and team has someone like that — the one who shows up no matter what, listens, fixes, covers, and carries more than anyone knows. They don’t complain; they keep going because that’s who they are. But loyal people get taken for granted. Their effort feels automatic, their patience is seen as weakness. People push and test them, thinking they’ll always be there. Until one day, they aren’t. There’s no big fight— they just quietly stop caring and let go. And everything falls apart with them.”

The post also added: “Most people don’t realize how much someone was carrying until the day they let it go.”

Michael Carrick later explained his decision to leave Fernandes out after the 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth. “He’s fit and available, but we picked the team we thought was best for today,” said Carrick, who may be leaving Old Trafford soon. “Unfortunately, we didn’t get the right result. We want to create more chances, and while we tried some things, it wasn’t enough, and that’s clear.”
