Harry Kane has just won the Ballon d’Or for the first time after an amazing season with Bayern Munich. He scored 61 goals across all competitions last season, helping Bayern win the Bundesliga, and also reached the World Cup semi-finals with England.

He faced tough competition from Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal, who were both strong contenders for the award. Before going on stage to pick up his trophy, Kane warmly greeted his biggest rivals and then gave a memorable speech.

“Wow, I’m almost speechless! Thank you so much to France Football for this incredible event. Being here in London makes it even more special. Thanks to everyone who voted for me. It was a tough year with so many great players.

“Big congratulations to all the nominees and winners. This award shows what hard work and determination can do. To my Bayern teammates, I’m so grateful — you push me to be better every day. A special shout-out to Vinnie [Vincent Kompany], who’s still in the hospital. We’re all rooting for you!

“Thanks to Bayern’s leaders for the honor to represent this club. To my England teammates, it’s been a special year together — this award is for all of us. Thanks also to Thomas Tuchel and the staff at England for your hard work and leadership.

“I want to thank Tottenham Hotspur, where it all started for me as a kid of 11. The coaches and the club helped me live my dream, through all the ups and downs. To all the fans of Bayern, England, and Spurs — your support means the world to me.

“I must thank all my coaches through the years — Bradley Allen, Chris Ramsey, John McDermott, Tim Sherwood, Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, Gareth Southgate, and many more. Each one has shaped me as a player and person.

“My surgeon has been a huge help too, supporting me through tough injuries with care and friendship. And to my wife’s family — Kelly, Gary, and Tom — thank you for all your support off the pitch.

“To my brother Charlie, thanks for all the fun times playing football together. To my mum and dad, this moment is for you — you gave me endless love and support, driving me to chase my dreams without pressure.

“To my kids, Ivy, Vivian, Louie, and Henry — you’re my motivation. I can’t wait to share this special moment with you and show you what hard work and belief can achieve.

“And to my wife Kate, my best friend and biggest supporter, I love you. We’ve been through so much, and this trophy is ours to celebrate. Your love and sacrifices made this possible.

“Lastly, to every young boy and girl chasing their dreams — keep believing and working hard. My path wasn’t easy, but with determination and resilience, anything is possible. Thank you all so much!”
