Never-before-seen video from the Ballon d’Or reveals what Ousmane Dembele did just seconds after Harry Kane won the award.
Ousmane Dembélé’s quick reaction to Harry Kane winning the 2026 Ballon d’Or is spreading fast online.
Even though Dembélé helped Paris Saint-Germain keep their Ligue 1 and Champions League titles last season, he finished seventh in this year’s Ballon d’Or, after winning it in 2025.
Harry Kane earned the top men’s award after an amazing 2025/26 season. He helped Bayern win the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal, and led England to third place at the World Cup.
Kylian Mbappé, who didn’t win a major trophy with Real Madrid or France last season, still came in second after scoring 42 goals for Madrid. Lamine Yamal, who won the Kopa Trophy, finished third after playing a big part in Spain’s World Cup win and Barcelona’s second straight La Liga title.
Lots of famous football players were at the London Palladium Theatre, including some of Kane’s Bayern teammates who were among the first to congratulate him.
Videos showed 2024 winner Rodri, who came fourth this year, and 2025 winner Dembélé reacting to Kane’s win. Fans loved seeing both players give Kane a hug, while Yamal clapped but stayed seated.
One fan even noticed Dembélé looking at Mbappé, as if checking how he felt about Kane’s win.
One person said, “Dembélé looking at Mbappé like, ‘How you feeling now, bro?’”
Another said, “Look how happy Rodri is. That’s what being a good sport is about.”
Someone else shared, “I get Mbappé. He seemed really disappointed but kept it together, same with Yamal.”
Another added, “In the video, only one person didn’t stand up to cheer the new Ballon d’Or winner.”
Dembélé did get to accept the men’s Club of the Year award for Paris Saint-Germain.
He said, “On behalf of PSG, thank you. We’ve built an amazing team and club. We fight for each other and try to bring joy to our fans, neutrals, and even our haters.”
