Tottenham set a surprising Premier League record with their win against Crystal Palace!

Tottenham set a new Premier League record for the most corners by one team during their 2-0 win over 10-man Crystal Palace.
Roberto De Zerbi’s team is on a roll with three Premier League wins in a row, thanks to goals from Archie Gray and Jan Paul van Hecke against a struggling Palace side. Both goals actually came from corners—Gray scored first with a header from Mohammed Kudus’ corner, and Van Hecke added the second.
At 73 minutes, Van Hecke scored again by heading in a rebound after his first shot hit the crossbar. Tottenham really dominated the game. According to Sofascore, they took 34 shots and racked up 20 corners, breaking the Premier League record.
Before this, the most corners by one team in a single Premier League game was 19. Manchester United had 19 corners in a 0-0 draw with Burnley in 2016, and Tottenham matched that in a 3-2 win over Bournemouth in 2022. But on Saturday, Spurs went one better, dominating set pieces like never before.
Before this game, Tottenham’s average was already impressive at 6.5 corners per Premier League match this season—the highest in the league—but 20 corners in one game was a big surprise.
Some people laughed when De Zerbi took the team to Marbella after their game against Manchester United, but it seems to be working. He planned the trip to help the team bond and get their season going strong.
New players like Savio, Mykhailo Mudryk, Omar Marmoush, and Tosin Adarabioyo who joined this summer got closer with their teammates while in southern Spain. Since then, they’ve won three games in a row.
De Zerbi said, “As a coach, you have to make decisions and take responsibility. I thought the best way to fix our problems was to spend time together off the pitch, to build strong relationships.”
He added, “We focused on the group, on staying close and building better connections.”
