Amir Dedic is at the heart of a big police operation after being seen with a bow and arrows in public in Newcastle.

On Wednesday in Northumberland, at least six police cars showed up after Newcastle United and Bosnia defender Amar Dedic was seen carrying a bow and arrows. A worried member of the public called the police after spotting Dedic and a friend with the bow near a reservoir on Military Road in the Harlow Hill area.
The Daily Mail reported that police headed to the area and later stopped the pair about seven miles away in the Darras Hall Estate. Interestingly, Newcastle United goalkeeper Mark Gillespie and former defender Paul Dummett happened to be nearby and came over to help while the police spoke with Dedic.
After searching the car, officers took the bow and arrows but found there was no danger to the public, saying the equipment was just for fun. A Northumbria Police spokesperson said they got the report just after 1:55 pm and stopped the vehicle in Darras Hall. They confirmed the items were for recreational use and no threat was found, with inquiries still ongoing.
It’s been said that Dedic and his friend shot arrows in the countryside, though it’s not clear what they were aiming at. It’s important to note that UK law bans hunting animals or birds with bows or crossbows.
Dedic, 24, who joined Newcastle from Benfica this summer, is expected to play in Saturday’s Premier League game against Fulham. He is unlikely to face any punishment from the club over this incident.
