Jon Rahm’s caddie puts his house up for sale at a shocking price, showing just how much money they earn.
Adam Hayes, Jon Rahm’s caddie, has just put his house up for sale, giving us a peek at how much the pros and their teams can earn. We all know that top golfers can win huge prize money. For example, Rory McIlroy recently took home $4.5 million (£3.3m) for winning his second Masters in a row, and some tournaments offer prizes as big as $25 million (£18.5m).
But it’s not just the players who make big money—caddies do too. Jon Rahm’s caddie, Hayes, experienced this firsthand by listing his North Carolina home for an eye-popping $14 million (£10.4m). Hayes has been working with Rahm since 2015, both on the PGA Tour and now in LIV Golf. He was by Rahm’s side when he won the Masters in 2023 and the US Open in 2021, and it’s clear he’s benefited from those victories.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Hayes’s impressive property outside Charlotte is listed for nearly $14 million, which could set a record in the area. The 100-acre estate includes a $75,000 Full Swing golf and sports simulator, a batting cage, a pool, and a gym. Hayes bought the home near Lake Norman for just $1 million in 2019 and has upgraded it a lot thanks to his work with Rahm.
Caddies usually earn about 10% of their player’s winnings, plus bonuses for big wins. Rahm has made over $53 million (£39.3m) in seven seasons on the PGA Tour. While Hayes hasn’t been with Rahm the whole time, he’s been his only caddie since Rahm joined LIV Golf in December 2023. Since then, Rahm has earned a massive $87.7 million (£64.9m), the most in that league. If Hayes got the usual share, he’s likely made around $10 million (£7.4m) in just two and a half years with LIV Golf.
