Piers Morgan fired back at Donald Trump after Trump called Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl half-time show “the worst ever.”

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, made history as the first male solo Latin star to headline the NFL event at its 60th game, where the Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots 29-13.

The 31-year-old Grammy winner performed his hits in Spanish and was joined by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. During his show, he held up a football with the message “Together, we are America.”

Bad Bunny also delivered a powerful message about love overcoming hate and shouted “God Bless America” while flags of the Americas were displayed. The Puerto Rican star’s halftime show featured special guests like Cardi B, Jessica Alba, and Pedro Pascal.

Trump, who attended the game in New Orleans but wasn’t at the halftime show for logistical reasons, watched from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. Before the show, he called Bad Bunny and Green Day, the other performer, a “terrible choice.” Afterward, he shared his thoughts on Truth Social, saying the dancing was “disgusting” and the show was a “slap in the face” to America.

Trump said, “The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense and doesn’t represent the greatness or success of America. Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is bad, especially for kids watching.” He also criticized the media for praising the show, saying they don’t understand the real world.

Although Piers Morgan is a longtime friend of Trump and has interviewed him before, he strongly disagreed with his view and praised Bad Bunny’s performance. On X, Morgan said, “Couldn’t disagree more, Mr. President. I absolutely loved Bad Bunny’s halftime show. It was amazing – maybe the best in Super Bowl history – with fantastic theater, great energy, and a strong unifying message. Plus, Spanish is the first language for over 50 million Americans!”

He also agreed with another tweet that said anyone who didn’t enjoy the show might just be missing the point and that “not everything has to be ruined by politics.”

Morgan later called the mix of spectacle, theater, and choreography in Bad Bunny’s show the “best ever,” while noting that Michael Jackson and Prince hold the top two spots in Super Bowl halftime performances. He made sure to say that he’s still friends with Trump but just sees things differently on this topic.
