A leaked document reveals all the words Vince McMahon didn’t allow in WWE.
A full list of words that ex-WWE chairman Vince McMahon banned from being said on TV has just come out.
McMahon’s time with WWE ended in January 2024 when he stepped down from his role on TKO’s board.
He resigned after a civil complaint from former employee Janel Grant accused him of sexual abuse and trafficking.
This ended McMahon’s 42-year connection with WWE, which he took over from his father, Vince McMahon Sr.
He played a huge part in making WWE a worldwide powerhouse, putting an end to wrestling territories and winning the famous Monday Night Wars against WCW.
While leading WWE, McMahon set some strict rules for the on-screen talent.
Some rules make sense—like commentators having to describe what they saw on the monitor to keep the show feeling real, and wrestlers not being allowed to “bury” their opponents.
But if you’ve followed wrestling for a while, you know that “understandable” and “Vince McMahon” don’t always go together. His quirkiest rules included calling wrestlers “superstars,” never calling world championships “belts,” and referring to the hospital as a “medical centre.”
