A WWE employee deleted a social media post about the recent release of some wrestlers over the weekend.

After WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, WWE let go of 22 superstars from Raw, Smackdown, and NXT. These releases often happen every year after WWE’s biggest show.

This time, the whole Wyatt Sicks group—Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis, Nikki Cross, and Bo Dallas (Uncle Howdy)—were released, along with the Motor City Machine Guns tag team. Big names like Zoey Stark, Apollo Crews, Zelina, Aleister Black, and Santos Escobar, who had just recently renewed his contract, were also let go.

One surprising release was Japanese star Kairi Sane, which got a lot of reactions on social media, including from WWE’s backstage interviewer Jackie Redmond. Jackie showed support by tweeting #WeWantKairi three times but later deleted the post.

WWE has listened to fans before, like when they brought R-Truth back after a big response. Usually, wrestlers who are released have to wait 90 days before working elsewhere if they’re on the main roster, and 30 days if they’re from NXT.

Zelina, who’s been released before, said she was told about it by a phone call from TKO, the company that owns both WWE and UFC.

Many wrestlers shared their feelings after the news. New WWE women’s champ Rhea Ripley tweeted how sad she was and encouraged those released to prove people wrong. Her friend Iyo Sky also posted a heartfelt message about Kairi Sane, saying she’s heartbroken but believes Kairi has a bright future ahead.

Iyo described Kairi as kind, funny, charming, and a true friend who faced many challenges in America. She said it’s hard to imagine Kairi not being around but is confident she will do great things next.

Kairi Sane, leaving WWE for the second time, thanked everyone for their support and said she’ll “set sail… in my own time.”
