Brock Lesnar surprised everyone by seeming to retire from WWE at WrestleMania on Sunday, but there’s a new update about what might be next for the Beast Incarnate.

Lesnar kicked off the second night of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, facing rising star Oba Femi. However, ‘The Ruler’ quickly defeated him in a passing-of-the-torch moment. After the match, Lesnar shocked the 50,000 fans at Allegiant Stadium by taking off his gloves and boots, signaling he might be done with WWE for good.

He then shared a heartfelt hug with his longtime supporter Paul Heyman and got a huge standing ovation from the crowd. Lesnar was supposed to appear on Monday Night Raw, but he was taken off the lineup. Heyman seemed to confirm Lesnar’s retirement during the show, saying fans should remember him as a WWE legend forever, not as someone still active.

Heyman’s words followed comments from WWE chief content officer Triple H on ESPN. Still, Fightful reported that Lesnar’s sudden retirement caught WWE officials off guard—they thought he’d quietly finish his career around SummerSlam in his hometown, Minneapolis, this August. Lesnar’s gesture to retire didn’t seem rehearsed, either.

There’s no official word yet on whether he’s really retired. Wrestling expert Dave Meltzer says WWE insiders believe Lesnar isn’t done just yet but might retire sometime in 2026.

Former WWE star CJ Perry thinks Lesnar will make a big comeback in Saudi Arabia, telling TMZ that a Saudi prince or king could offer him a huge paycheck—maybe $20-50 million—for one more big fight.

If Lesnar does return for a last match, the likely opponent would be the powerful Gunther, who’s defeated stars like John Cena, AJ Styles, and Goldberg, and has a storyline connection with Heyman in WWE right now.
