US President Donald Trump has shared his thoughts after a 22-foot gold statue of him was unveiled at Trump National Doral Miami.

Trump is famous for his love of golf and is often spotted playing during his time away from the White House. He also owns several golf courses worldwide, including ones in Aberdeen, Scotland, and Dubai, UAE. Reports say he owned around 16 or 17 courses at the start of 2026.

Each course is named starting with “Trump,” usually followed by its location, like Trump National Doral Miami – where the big statue was revealed on Wednesday, May 6.

The golden statue was shown during a dedication ceremony that Pastor Mark Burns attended. He called it a “celebration of life.” On social media, Burns wrote, “Let me be clear: this is not a golden calf. This statue is a symbol of resilience, freedom, patriotism, strength, and the will to keep fighting for America’s future.”

During the ceremony, Burns called President Trump, who answered quickly and thanked him, calling him a “good man.” Trump said, “I’ve known him a long time, he’s been with me from the beginning — maybe just two days after we started. I want to thank everyone there. I know it was done with love.”

Burns also said the statue reminds people that God is protecting the President’s life. The statue itself is 15 feet tall on top of a 7-foot base and was paid for by crypto investors who wanted to promote $PATRIOT, according to The Daily Beast.

So, what does Trump think about the statue? From his social media posts, he seems to like it. He shared a photo on Truth Social with the caption: “The Real Deal – GOLD – At Doral in Miami. Put there by great American Patriots!!!”

Earlier, sculptor Alan Cottrill mentioned that the crypto investors were slow to pay the $300,000 agreed for the statue, so he kept it in a warehouse until he got the money.
