Manchester United and Chelsea have both been linked with one of the hottest managers in world football as talks continue about who will lead their teams next season.

With the season coming to an end, some managers are getting ready to move on, including Andoni Iraola. He will leave Bournemouth when his contract runs out in June. Iraola says his decision wasn’t about chasing another Premier League job, despite the rumors.

He said in April, “It was not about any other club. It was about either staying here or leaving. I don’t know what I’ll do next season — whether I’ll manage a club, an international team, or even stay on this continent. I just don’t know yet.”

Still, talks keep linking Iraola to a Premier League move, especially to Manchester United and Chelsea. United, managed temporarily by Michael Carrick, have done well, winning 10 and drawing 3 out of 15 games. Carrick might get the job permanently. According to The Guardian, things look good for Carrick to stay, but the club has also had talks with Iraola while weighing their options.

Chelsea, on the other hand, need a new manager after parting ways with Liam Rosenior. They are reportedly considering Xabi Alonso, Marco Silva, Oliver Glasner, and Iraola. The club has even met with Iraola to discuss the position.

Cesc Fabregas has also been mentioned as a possible Chelsea manager after doing well at Italian club Como. But Fabregas says he’s in no hurry to leave his current role. Talking to The Telegraph, he shared, “The Premier League is the best league in the world. As a player, coach, and fan, I’ve always felt that. But like José Mourinho once said to me, ‘I still have 30 years to work.’ So I could stay here for 10 years and still have time to coach in the Premier League later.”

He added, “Football is unpredictable. One day you’re the best, the next you’re not. I’m just enjoying the moment here. It’s great what we’re doing at Como. Let’s see what the future brings.”

Fabregas said he will “of course” coach in the Premier League one day, but right now, he loves the exciting project he’s building at Como and isn’t rushing to leave.
