Liverpool gives a big transfer clue with new home kit launch

Liverpool may have given us a big transfer clue while showing off their new 2026/27 home kit.
Today, Liverpool and Adidas revealed the club’s new home shirt, inspired by the classic design from the 1989-90 title-winning season.
This is the second kit they’ve released since teaming up with Adidas again last year.
That 1989-90 kit is famous because it was worn by some of Liverpool’s greatest players like Ian Rush, John Barnes, and Alan Hansen, under the management of Sir Kenny Dalglish.
That season, Liverpool won their record 18th league title, finishing nine points clear at the top of the First Division.
The new retro kit was shown off by several current first-team players, including summer signings Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, and the injured Hugo Ekitike.
But one player’s appearance might hint at Liverpool’s transfer plans this summer.
Goalkeeper Alisson Becker was also featured wearing the new 26/27 goalkeeper shirt, which could mean he’s staying at Anfield for the last year of his contract.
He’s been linked with a move back to Italy, with Juventus looking like a likely destination. Reports say Alisson might have already agreed to the switch.
Earlier this season, Liverpool extended Alisson’s contract by one year, so he won’t be leaving on a free transfer.
Alisson missed part of the season due to injury, so Giorgi Mamardashvili and Freddie Woodman had to step in.
Many Liverpool fans aren’t yet sure if Mamardashvili can fill Alisson’s shoes. Alisson has been key in Liverpool’s Premier League and Champions League wins.
Manager Arne Slot didn’t want to comment on transfer rumors after Liverpool confirmed a farewell tribute for Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah following their last game at Brentford on Sunday.
“You can ask me as many times as you want, but my answer stays the same,” Slot said.
“I think our fans should support Alisson, whether it’s his first game or his last, just like they always do for all our players.
“If he’s playing against Aston Villa or next week or next season, the fans will be behind him.”
