Andy Robertson’s transfer to Spurs is on hold as a big European club tries to step in and take over the deal.

Andy Robertson has an important choice to make soon after one of Europe’s biggest clubs suddenly showed interest in signing him, despite his planned move to Tottenham.
The 32-year-old defender will leave Liverpool when his contract ends in June and has already agreed in principle to join Tottenham, who avoided relegation on the last day of the Premier League season.
Spurs started talks to sign Robertson back in January, and it looked like the deal was almost done. But now, the move to North London seems to be on pause because Italian giants Juventus have made a late inquiry.
Journalist Ben Jacobs says talks have happened to “understand the conditions” for a transfer, and Juventus are thinking about making a formal offer for the Scotland international. Sky Italy also reports that Juventus have reached out to Robertson.
Earlier this month, Robertson said that turning down a winter move to Tottenham and staying with Liverpool was his own choice.
“There was definitely interest and talks between clubs,” he said. “But I decided I wanted to stay. I stayed at Liverpool, and that was my decision.
“I’ve always been committed to Liverpool for the last eight and a half, nine years, and I’ll be committed until they no longer need me. This club has given me everything, and I’ve given my all back.
“It’s been a great relationship, and I hope it continues. January happened, but that’s in the past. Now, I’m focused on helping the team on the pitch and in training.
“Whatever was going on behind the scenes, I stayed focused on football.
“I’ve always said these talks stay between me and the club. I don’t want it played out in public. I have a great relationship with Richard Hughes, Mike Gordon, and Michael Edwards.
“They brought me here and helped shape who I am. Out of respect, our talks stay private, and they respect me too.
“When the decision is final — with only three months left on my contract — I’ll let you all know.”
