Usain Bolt gave a cool and calm response when the Enhanced Games runner couldn’t beat his world record.

Fred Kerley’s 100 metres time at the Enhanced Games wasn’t close to breaking the clean world record, and Usain Bolt remains the fastest man ever. Bolt set the record in Berlin in 2009 with 9.58 seconds, and after 17 years, no one has beaten it.

Today’s sprinters are giving it their all, and young stars like Gout Gout are showing great promise with amazing junior achievements. So, many people keep wondering if Bolt’s record will ever fall. But it’s a tough challenge, and so far, no one has come close.

This includes the runners at the Enhanced Games in Las Vegas. This event, which requires a medical check but doesn’t test for banned substances, has caused quite a buzz. Fred Kerley, a 31-year-old American who is banned until next year for missing drug tests, said he planned to break the 9.58-second record. He even said, “It’s going to be destroyed.”

Kerley won the 100 metres in Las Vegas with a time of 9.97 seconds, after some problems at the start. When asked about Bolt’s record, Bolt’s simple reply was, “Ok.” Kerley earned $250,000 in prize money and says he ran clean. “God gave me fast feet for a reason,” he said before the race. “You still have to work hard. Drugs won’t help if you don’t put in the effort.”

Kerley’s ban ends in 2027, just before the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. Since he was banned for missed tests—not for testing positive—and has promised to run clean at the Enhanced Games, he’s likely confident he can pass any tests before the Olympics. However, competing in Las Vegas might cause problems, as World Athletics president Sebastian Coe said in 2024 that athletes taking part in the Enhanced Games could face long bans.
