PSG choose their next new player after winning the Champions League, giving Premier League teams a tough surprise.
Paris Saint-Germain might have already picked their next big signing, and it’s not great news for one Premier League club. After an exciting final against Arsenal at Budapest’s Puskas Arena, PSG proved they’re still one of the best in Europe by winning the 2025/26 Champions League. This win makes them just the 10th team to win back-to-back Champions League titles, joining famous clubs like Real Madrid, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, and Liverpool.
With stars like Ousmane Dembele, Vitinha, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Achraf Hakimi leading the team, it’s clear Luis Enrique’s side is top-notch. Now, it seems they’re ready to add another strong player to become nearly unstoppable.
In the 2025/26 Premier League season, many players stood out. Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes won Player of the Season after setting a new record for most assists in a season. But one of the biggest surprises was Bournemouth’s young talent, 19-year-old Eli Junior Kroupi Jr. He made history by scoring the most goals ever by a teenager in their first season, after joining Bournemouth last summer for £12 million. He netted 13 goals in 33 games and is now catching PSG’s attention.
French newspaper L’Equipe says PSG want to sign another young French attacker in the summer of 2026, and Kroupi Jr is a top choice. Even though PSG has a good relationship with Bournemouth after signing Illia Zabarnyi last year, Bournemouth’s sporting director Tiago Pinto doesn’t plan to let Kroupi Jr go easily. The striker is under contract until 2030, giving Bournemouth the upper hand, although Kroupi Jr is reportedly eager to move to a big European club.
With players like Gonçalo Ramos and Lee Kang-in expected to leave PSG soon, the club may have to spend big on new forwards. Besides Kroupi Jr, PSG is also linked with Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco, Yan Diomande from Leipzig, and even Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid, as Luis Enrique aims to build an unbeatable squad.
A move for Diomande would be a hit for Liverpool, who have also been interested. The 19-year-old scored 12 goals and made eight assists in his first Bundesliga season. But RB Leipzig reportedly want around £87 million for him, so it’s unclear if Liverpool will go for it this summer.
