Arne Slot is one of the top picks for a surprise Premier League job after leaving Liverpool.
Former Liverpool head coach Arne Slot might make a surprising return to the Premier League just days after being let go. Slot left Liverpool on May 30 after a tough second season, where the team finished fifth, a big drop after winning the Premier League in his first year.
Andoni Iraola, who used to coach Bournemouth, is expected to take over from Slot. Reports say he has already agreed verbally to become the new Liverpool manager.
Since leaving Liverpool, Slot, who has also coached Dutch teams Cambuur, AZ, and Feyenoord, has been linked to several big jobs. Right after he was sacked, Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri said Slot was the top choice for AC Milan’s job after they parted ways with Massimo Allegri. Milan ended the season fifth and missed out on the Champions League again.
Dutch journalist Marc van de Kraan told talkSPORT that Slot is very interested in becoming the Netherlands’ national coach after Ronald Koeman steps down following the World Cup.
Now, Slot is also being considered for the Fulham manager spot after Marco Silva left to join Benfica. Betting site Betfair has Slot at 10/1 odds to become Fulham’s next boss. He shares these odds with former Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic, ex-Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior, Celtic legend Martin O’Neill, and Copenhagen’s Bo Svensson. Other names include Getafe’s Jose Bordalas at 9/1 and Coventry City’s Frank Lampard at 7/1.
Thomas Frank, who coached Brentford and Tottenham, is the second favorite at 3/1, while Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna leads the betting at 6/4, having helped Ipswich get promoted to the Premier League twice.
Slot is also the second favorite to take over at Newcastle United, although there’s no sign the current coach Eddie Howe will be leaving soon.
Here’s a quick look at some betting odds for the Fulham job:
– Kieran McKenna — 6/4
– Thomas Frank — 3/1
– Frank Lampard — 7/1

Other managers with longer odds include Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino, Erik ten Hag, Steven Gerrard, and more. It’s an exciting time, and Slot could have some interesting options ahead!
