Arsenal is getting close to making their first summer signing, with talks now at an exciting stage.

New Premier League champions Arsenal are looking to sign one of England’s most exciting young players this summer, and they’re already in advanced talks about a possible deal.

It’s set to be a busy summer for the Gunners after they made over £120 million from reaching this season’s Champions League final. Many promising players have been linked with a move to North London, including Nathaniel Brown, who Germany’s manager Julian Nagelsmann called “one of the most talented left-backs around.”

Julian Alvarez, Morgan Rogers, and Junior Kroupi are also on Arsenal’s radar, but the player who seems most likely to join is Leicester City winger Jeremy Monga. The 16-year-old is the third youngest player to appear in the Premier League, just behind Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman. He prefers Arsenal over other clubs interested in him, like Manchester United.

According to talkSPORT, Arsenal are in advanced talks with Leicester to sign the highly-rated teenager in a deal that might cost over £10 million. The Gunners have been following his progress for some time. Even with interest from big clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester City, Arsenal looks close to sealing the deal.

Monga scored once and made two assists in 27 games for Leicester, who were recently relegated. At 16 years and 37 days, he became the youngest goal scorer in Championship history when he scored against Preston.

Monga is versatile – he can play on either wing or as a playmaker in the center. His direct and exciting style would fit well with Arsenal’s fast-paced game.

Despite Leicester’s tough season and relegation, Monga’s growth was a bright spot. Former Leicester manager Marti Cifuentes praised him, saying, “He deserves credit. He’s talented and humble, which is very important to me. He works hard on the pitch, wants to learn, and is eager to improve. I’m happy about his goal but more about his whole performance. He shows great character and personality. We want to help him become the best player he can be.”

Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who also managed Leicester, shared similar praise: “You can see his great qualities. He’s a fantastic winger with speed and loads of talent. And he’s a great kid too.”
