Journalist shares news about Florentino Perez’s €150m ‘Galactico’ signing for Real Madrid

Florentino Perez’s big election surprise might have just been leaked! The Real Madrid president recently said he plans to spend at least €150 million on a player as talented as Cristiano Ronaldo or Kaka.
During a popular Spanish TV show called Horizonte on Thursday night, Perez shared his bold plans ahead of the club’s presidential vote on Sunday. “On Tuesday, I’m going to make an offer to a top Champions League club for a great player,” he said. “It will be the highest amount Real Madrid has ever paid—at least €150 million.”
Perez ruled out several names, like Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku, Michael Olise, and Harry Kane. “The offer will be for a player of the level of Cristiano Ronaldo or Kaka. He’s a Galactico,” said the 79-year-old. He also confirmed this player isn’t currently in the Premier League.
“We’re talking about someone who plays midfield or forward. First, we’ll talk to the club, make the offer, and wait to see what happens,” he added.
Earlier this week, Perez’s competitor Enrique Riquelme promised he’d sign Manchester City’s Erling Haaland if he won the vote, even showing off a Real Madrid shirt with ‘Haaland 9’ on the back.
Before Perez’s announcement, Spanish reports hinted that Paris Saint-Germain’s Vitinha, a key midfielder in their recent Champions League win, could be the target. Transfermarkt values Vitinha at around €140 million.
Journalist Pacojo Delgado from Cadena SER said, “If Florentino wants to win the elections, signing Vitinha would be the final blow.”
Later on Thursday, Madrid reporter Edu Pidal confirmed that Real Madrid’s record-breaking offer would indeed be for Vitinha. “The player Florentino Perez is offering €150 million for is Vitinha,” he said on Onda Cero.
Back in March, Vitinha himself said it would be “foolish” to consider leaving PSG, especially since he feels so happy there with his team, coach, and fans. “I love being here at PSG, and so does my family,” he told Canal 11 after the rumors started. “We have a fantastic group, an incredible coach, and I feel very appreciated.”
