Real Madrid’s search for a new star just got exciting with a surprise name revealed as Florentino Perez’s secret target!
There’s an exciting new development in Real Madrid’s search for a surprise Galactico signing that president Florentino Perez has been hinting at.
Perez is facing a challenge from Enrique Riquelme in Sunday’s presidential election. Riquelme promises to bring in Manchester City stars Erling Haaland and Rodri, and even wants to hire Jurgen Klopp as Real’s next coach.
But Perez, who’s led Real twice before, has a big promise of his own if he stays on. Besides being ready to bring back Jose Mourinho as coach, Perez told the Spanish TV show Horizonte on Thursday that he plans to make a huge offer—at least €150 million—for a top player from another Champions League club. This would break Real’s transfer record.
Perez ruled out some big names like Haaland, Jeremy Doku, Harry Kane, and Michael Olise. He said the new player is someone who plays in midfield or further forward, isn’t from the Premier League, and is a “total Galactico.” But first, they will talk to his current club.
People have guessed it might be Vitinha or Joao Neves from Paris Saint-Germain, but now there’s a twist. According to sources close to Real, reporter Graeme Bailey from TEAMTalk says the player is actually Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The Georgian star just helped PSG win their second straight Champions League, but Real are confident they can sign him this summer. Talks have already started, and Real believe Kvaratskhelia would be interested in joining.
PSG bought Kvaratskhelia from Napoli for £69.1 million, but Real may have to pay about twice that. PSG wouldn’t want to sell one of their best players, and they don’t really need the money.
If Kvaratskhelia does join Real, it could add to the talks about Vinicius Jr’s future, since they both play on the left wing. Vinicius hasn’t agreed to a new contract yet—his current deal ends in 2027, and Real risk losing him for free.
Meanwhile, Real have already been busy with transfers, signing Liverpool’s defender Ibrahima Konate on a free, and paying £17 million to get Inter Milan and Netherlands right-back Denzel Dumfries.
