Holly Willoughby opens up after being bumped by Kim Kardashian at the Monaco GP
Holly Willoughby has shared her first thoughts after she and comedian Michael McIntyre were pushed aside by Kim Kardashian’s entourage at the Monaco Grand Prix.
Kim and her sister Khloe made their debut in the Formula 1 paddock over the Monaco weekend. Kim was there to cheer on her partner, Lewis Hamilton, who finished second for the second race in a row.
Before the race started, Holly and Michael were being interviewed by Sky Sports F1’s Natalie Pinkham on the grid. But suddenly, Kardashian’s team came through and pushed them back. Michael even chased after them, trying to get a word with Kim or Khloe.
“We’ve got a live update,” he yelled as he ran back. “I just got hit by a wave… you know when you’re on holiday and a big wave hits? That’s how it felt! We got Kardashian-waved!”
Holly laughed and said, “That was crazy! You almost joined the wave!”
Michael joked that his back was hurting and added, “I think something belonging to Kim hit me in the lower back—I won’t say what!”
Both Holly and Michael watched the Grand Prix from a balcony in the paddock as guests of the Williams team and their team boss, James Vowles. The race was won by Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli.
Holly later posted on Instagram, clearly finding the whole thing funny.
“What a weekend! Monaco didn’t disappoint,” she wrote. “Thanks to Williams F1 Team and James Vowles for having us. It’s hard to pick a favorite moment—grid walks, hot laps (I’ll share this soon, but let’s just say I’m not built for speed)—and then getting caught up in a Kim Kardashian fly past. Definitely a weekend I won’t forget.”
She also shared a clip of that Kardashian moment on her Instagram Stories, showing her and Michael being swept up in the ‘wave.’ Michael hasn’t commented yet.
When Kim arrived in the paddock on Saturday, she quickly became the center of attention. She watched qualifying from a balcony above Ferrari’s garage and then appeared on the grid on Sunday before the race.
She smiled at Sky F1 reporter Martin Brundle during his gridwalk but didn’t stop to chat after a security guard whispered in her ear.
Kim watched the podium ceremony as Hamilton accepted his second-place trophy. Before the ceremony, she picked up a towel that had been left on the winner’s plinth for Antonelli. Not realizing what it was, she walked off with it and wiped her face with it.
