England players could get an amazing bonus if they win the World Cup!

As England gets ready to start their World Cup journey, the 26-player squad is more pumped than ever, thanks to a generous offer from the FA. Besides aiming to lift the trophy for the first time in 60 years, the players can expect loads of praise, sponsorship deals, and even knighthoods—just like the Lionesses recently received.

On top of that, each player could earn a huge bonus if they win, and the new coach Thomas Tuchel could see that bonus grow even bigger. Reports say every player might take home more than £500,000 for winning the World Cup in North America. Usually, players get a small payment when they play for England, but that £2,000 fee usually goes to charity through the English Football Foundation.

Tuchel’s bonus is said to be several million pounds if he leads the team to victory. And that’s before the FIFA prize money, which gives the winners $50 million (£37.5 million) to share. For comparison, the Lionesses earned about £1.75 million each for their Women’s Euros win, although taxes took a big chunk.

Many winners give part of their prize money to charity, like France did with their £350,000 bonuses in 2018. This year, England’s bonuses are higher than most European teams, which might push the Three Lions to give their all.

Spain’s bonuses are set up in stages, starting at about £150,000 from the quarter-finals and going up to £400,000 if they win it all. France offers around £450,000, while Belgium’s bonuses range from £30,000 to £400,000. Germany’s bonus is said to be higher than the £250,000 they got in 2014, but it’s not finalized yet. Jonathan Tah shared in a recent press conference that talks with their federation are going well.

The only team likely to get more than England is Brazil, who could take home $1 million (£750,000) each. Some African teams like Senegal, Ivory Coast, and Morocco receive different rewards, like land or houses from their leaders, along with cash prizes.

England will kick off their World Cup run with a big match against Croatia, aiming to get the upper hand over their tough rivals.
